About the Center
SND Behavioral Health has worked with over 4,000 children throughout South Florida, giving them substantial experience with different needs and family situations. They offer therapy in multiple environments—home, school, community—so kids can practice skills where they'll actually use them. The team emphasizes practical outcomes: improved communication, more independence, and better behavior management. All therapy is supervised by BCBAs and delivered by trained RBTs.

The organization is joined by Massiel Valdes, M.S., BCBA, and Jennie Salas Alfonso, M.S., BCBA, as members of the Board of Directors. All three hold master's degrees and are Board Certified Behavior Analysts. The company's goal is to provide the best possible treatment for children and adults who present deficits to adapt to the demands of the school, home, and other social settings, so that they can work on skills that will help them become more independent and successful. Understanding how behavior works in real situations, we aim to increase behaviors that are helpful and adaptive and decrease those that might be hurtful or affect learning. Through carefully constructed individual treatment plans, all clients may show substantial progress in important characteristics of the disorder.

Led by Dr. Penelope Johnson, a BCBA with over 20 years of experience and ADOS-2 examiner credentials, along with María Zambrano, a BCBA with 15+ years in the field. The program mixes highly structured teaching with more flexible, naturalistic learning environments—parents often appreciate this balance. They continuously track each child's progress and adjust programs as needed.
