About The Hill School of Wilmington
The Hill School of Wilmington is an independent, nonprofit, non-sectarian school serving students in grades 1 through 8 with language-based learning differences, including dyslexia, and attention deficit disorders. The model is half-day: students spend part of each day at Hill receiving direct, individualized remediation and the rest at their base public, private, or homeschool setting, so they stay connected to their home school community. Instruction covers reading, written language, math, and executive function, using the Orton-Gillingham approach and multisensory structured language methodology, with no more than four students per teacher. A summer program and tutoring are also offered. Applicants need a diagnosis from a licensed psychologist and average to above-average potential, and admission is rolling with a $75 application fee.

Our Wilmington campus provides alternative education and day-treatment services for students in crisis. Classroom instruction is paired with a therapeutic component, social-skills learning, and practice with replacement behaviors.
