Haslett Special Education

Haslett Public Schools runs special education for eligible students with disabilities from birth through age 26 who attend public or non-public schools within the Ingham Intermediate School District boundaries, including students who are homeless, wards of the state, or children of migrant workers.

About 330 of our students receive special education services, roughly 12 percent of the district. We serve them in the least restrictive environment that meets their needs, through general education classes, special education classes, and co-taught classrooms across our elementary, middle, and high schools.

Placement decisions come from the Individualized Educational Planning Team (IEPT) process, and parents take part in programming throughout. Our district also follows ADA Section 504 for students who need accommodations without an IEP.
