About Union Elementary
Union Elementary reopened in its current building in the 2007-2008 school year, designed with a STEM lab, a project room, a gymnasium, a media center, and dedicated art and music spaces. Two playgrounds sit in a park-like setting, and classrooms get plenty of natural light.
We are part of Zionsville Community Schools and serve more than 600 students from pre-kindergarten through fourth grade. Teachers use differentiated instruction and early literacy intervention to meet students where they are, our counselor teaches guidance lessons on topics such as bullying and goal setting, and every class follows Second Step, our weekly social and emotional learning curriculum.
Before and after school, Eagle Recreation and Enrichment offers Spanish language classes along with clubs for drama, science and engineering, sports and art, and scouting troops are active here. Students also enjoy author assemblies and curriculum-linked field trips. Our PTO and a Dads Club that dates to the 1990s plan student events and raise money for classroom enrichment.
