About Guiding Light Academy West
Our Shorewood West Campus is part of Guiding Light Academy, an Illinois-approved nonpublic therapeutic day program. We serve kindergarten through twelfth grade students ages five to 21 who need academic and therapeutic support for autism, intellectual disability, developmental delay or other health impairments. Placement begins with a referral from the student's school district.
We provide academics alongside speech and language services, occupational therapy, counseling and behavior support. Applied behavior analysis is used within the school setting. Our team works with families, therapists and the home district on each student's education and on possible return to the home school.
