Venture School
Venture is the San Ramon Valley Unified School District's independent study high school for grades 9 to 12. We serve students whose needs are best met through study outside a traditional school setting, and the flexible schedule leaves families room to pursue personal interests beyond the classroom. Study here follows a course-based model. Students have a different teacher for each subject, meet online two days a week on a set schedule, and can add in-person sessions as needed. Expect 20 to 30 hours of work per week, about five hours per core class, with assignments delivered through Google Classroom. Advisory and intervention time is built into every week. Venture is a fully accredited school, and students can complete every course needed for a diploma and for UC/CSU admission. A counselor, social worker, school psychologist and resource specialist are on staff, and students with IEPs may enroll with their IEP team's agreement. Students can join athletics at their attendance-area high school, and meals are provided at no cost.
