About Young Scholar's Academy
Young Scholar's Academy is a public charter school on the eastern bank of the Colorado River in Fort Mohave, serving families from Fort Mohave, Mohave Valley, Oatman, Topock, and Bullhead City. We are a kindergarten through 12th grade basic skills school: our Valencia Road campus houses the elementary and middle schools, and high school students attend YSA Elite HS.
We emphasize reading, language arts, and mathematics, and students work at an individualized pace and take responsibility for their own learning. Reading instruction uses Benchmark Universe, and teachers also draw on Discovery Education.
Parents take an active role in their children's education, and local businesses and community resources help us build academic and social emotional skills. We are a Title I school with special education services and Child Find, students can join clubs and volleyball, and enrollment follows a lottery and waiting list.
