Syble Hopp School

Syble Hopp School in De Pere is a separate public day school for children and young adults with disabilities, from age three to their twenty-first birthday, who live in Brown County in one of the seven districts we serve. Our students have complex support needs beyond what their home district can provide, and IEP teams decide placement here after an intake process that includes a record review, an observation and a family tour. Teams revisit that placement at every annual IEP meeting.

Our programming follows the Alternate Standards, and our staff are trained in research-based practices focused on each student's individual goals. Community Based Instruction takes learning into real settings. The Brown County Children with Disabilities Education Board may provide programming and administrative supervision.

Our student athletes compete through Special Olympics in individual, team and unified sports, including 3 on 3 basketball, soccer, and track and field, with family members welcome as volunteers, unified partners or coaches. In most summers, Camp SOAR offers small-group classes, specials and outdoor recreation for students who have finished kindergarten through age 17.
