About Kinnects Learning center
Connects Learning Center is an alternative high school for juniors and seniors from the Oak Creek-Franklin, Cudahy, South Milwaukee and Franklin school districts who have not found success in a traditional setting. Students are referred by their home high school's team after earlier interventions, interview with our staff alongside a parent, and begin with a one-month probation period.
Most instruction is computer-based with one-to-one help from our licensed teachers, and the curriculum follows Wisconsin's Model Academic Standards. Each student follows an individualized program and school day and must show mastery of the material. Students can move between our center and their resident high school to earn the credits they need toward graduation.
Our approach is built on the Circle of Courage: belonging, generosity, mastery and independence. Students earn credit through required community service, and through career assessment, exploration, employability skills and work experience.
