Martha Lake Elementary School

Alderwood Early Childhood Center is the Edmonds School District's preschool campus in Lynnwood, serving about 560 children who live in the Lynnwood High and Mountlake Terrace High attendance zones. Our building has 12 inclusive preschool classrooms and one self-contained classroom, and many rooms pair a lead teacher with a special education partner teacher. Our classrooms bring together children with IEPs, children enrolled through ECEAP, and tuition-based students. We also run four satellite sites: two classrooms each at Chase Lake and Lynndale elementary schools that follow the same mix, two at Edmonds Elementary and one at Maplewood Co-op for children with IEPs and tuition-based students. Through Child Find, the district locates, evaluates and identifies young children with suspected disabilities, starting from birth, so those who qualify can receive special education and related services. Families can apply for free or reduced-price school meals, and our campus has a library. Parents are welcome on campus and check in at the front office when they arrive.
