Autism Center of Excellence - Richmond

Richmond, VA
4.3 (2)

Autism Center of Excellence (AutismCOE) is dedicated to unlocking the potential of children on the autism spectrum, serving a diverse range of students from ages 1.5 to 6 years old, including those with language-based learning disabilities and twice-exceptional profiles. The school’s core mission is to provide personalized care through innovative methodologies, focusing on Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy. This approach emphasizes not only the development of crucial social and communication skills but also fosters independence and emotional growth, ensuring that each child receives tailored support that meets their unique needs. Key programs include an Early Intervention Program designed for younger children and a School Readiness Program that prepares students with social difficulties or mild to moderate autism for formal schooling, all while integrating play-based learning to make education enjoyable. What sets AutismCOE apart is its commitment to low student-teacher ratios, strong family partnerships, and a holistic approach that extends therapy into everyday life, ensuring that parents and caregivers are actively involved in their child's development. With a focus on building lifelong skills and celebrating each child's unique gifts, AutismCOE strives to create an inclusive environment where every child can thrive.
