Spiritos School

Spiritos School is a private special education school in Powhatan, Virginia, founded in 2002 for students from Pre-K through Grade 8 with autism and related developmental differences. Academics follow personalized programs aligned to the Virginia Standards of Learning and the Virginia Alternate Assessment Program, delivered through compassionate, trauma-assumed care. Applied Behavior Analysis, speech therapy, occupational therapy, and physical therapy are integrated into the school day rather than pulled out of it, and the program builds daily living and functional life skills alongside academics. Parent training, social skills groups, and family engagement are part of the model. The school is licensed by the Virginia Department of Education and accredited by VAISEF.
