About Lawton Academy of Arts and Sciences

Lawton Academy of Arts and Sciences was founded in 1999 for intellectually, academically and creatively accelerated students, and today serves about 213 students from Pre-K through 12th grade on two campuses on NW 72nd Street. Elementary students work at the level they are able, not the grade their age assigns, and students who master skills move ahead. A gifted identification is preferred but not required, and middle and high school entry requires a 2.5 GPA.

High school students work toward the Oklahoma High School Diploma of Distinction, with three years of one foreign language and a writing or competitive speech class every year. Mornings are for core academics and afternoons for electives such as STEM and fine arts. Every elementary class performs in one of four musicals a year and learns an instrument, from Boomwhackers in Pre-K to ukulele in 5th and 6th grade. Sports include soccer, basketball, volleyball, cross country, archery, track and cheer.

We are accredited by Cognia. Tuition is $7,250 for elementary and $7,750 for junior high and high school, extended day care runs mornings and afternoons, and families can apply for Opportunity Scholarship Fund aid.
