About Dr. O'dell Owens Center for Learning
We serve Cincinnati Public Schools students in kindergarten through grade 12 who have complex emotional and behavioral needs. Each student's Individualized Education Plan guides instruction and support at our Center on Alms Place.
Our classes usually have no more than 10 students. Staff trained in restorative practices and trauma-informed care provide individualized teaching and mental health support. We use a person-centered approach that recognizes students' strengths and the effects of trauma. Admission requires an active Individualized Education Plan (IEP) and a referral from Cincinnati Public Schools' Department of Student Services.

A Child's Garden Preschool
Our preschool uses a play-based curriculum aligned with the Ohio Early Learning and Development Standards. We bring social, emotional, cognitive and physical learning together through hands-on activities. Children have a large-muscle room, tricycles and a foam pit for movement and play. Ayer Elementary School
We help children learn and feel connected through classroom instruction, arts and enrichment, and support for their personal well-being. Families can reach school counselors and the nurse, and students have access to a media center as part of the school day.
