MUMS The Kitty Hupman Weekday School
Since 1987, MUMS, The Kitty Hupman Weekday School, has held its classes inside Mebane United Methodist Church on South Fourth Street. Our classrooms are open to children regardless of race, gender or ability, starting at 15 months in our toddler room and continuing through a two-year-old room and preschool classes until children enter kindergarten. Preschool meets year-round from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Children age 3 and up must be fully potty trained, and room placement follows each child's age on August 31 so children stay on schedule for public school. For kindergarten through 5th grade, our after-school program runs from 2:30 to 5:45 p.m. while Alamance-Burlington schools are in session, and we stay open on teacher workdays. Each summer the school-age program becomes a camp open 6:30 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. on weekdays, with weekly field trips, outdoor activities and art for children up to age 12 who have finished 5th grade. Our faith-based care aims to reflect God's love while meeting each child's physical, social, emotional and intellectual needs.
