Kulanu Torah Academy

Kulanu Academy in Cedarhurst is a special education school for students primarily between the ages of 11 and 21, drawing families from across New York City and Long Island. Our name means "All of Us," and the school grew from the vision of our founder, Dr. Beth Raskin, as part of a larger organization that also runs day habilitation and adult career services.

Classes are built with student-to-staff ratios from 6:1:1 to 12:1:1, depending on each group's needs. In our middle and high school programs, students follow individualized tracks: an academic track aligned with New York State Regents standards, a vocational track with hands-on job training, community-based experiences and career exploration, and an independent living track focused on daily living skills, communication and social skills.

Our leadership team includes a Board Certified Behavior Analyst who oversees our educational programs, a head of pupil personnel who coordinates family support services, and a director of student life. Graduates can continue with Kulanu's adult programs as they move into work and community life.
