Our Place After School Program

Our Place is a dedicated after-school program designed specifically for teens aged 13 to 20 with special needs, including those with language-based learning disabilities and other developmental challenges. The core mission of the school is to foster independence and social skills through engaging activities that promote personal growth and community integration. The program offers a rich variety of experiences, from crafting and game-playing to vocational skill development, ensuring that each teen not only learns valuable life skills but also builds lasting friendships in a supportive environment.

During the summer months, the program expands to provide full-day programming that includes gardening, academic enrichment, and field trips, allowing participants to explore new interests while reinforcing their learning in a fun and interactive setting. A unique aspect of Our Place is the Freedom Factory, a store featuring unique gifts crafted by local artists as well as creations made by the teens themselves, providing them with opportunities to earn money and gain practical experience in a retail environment.
