Lewis and Clark Career Center

Juniors and seniors from across St. Charles County spend half of each school day with us at Lewis & Clark Career Center and the other half at their home high school, so they keep their regular academics and activities. We work with five partner districts and offer 17 programs, including precision machining, welding, masonry, carpentry, electrical, HVAC, auto service and collision repair, power equipment, early childhood careers, the Cyber Academy, software development, medical and dental assisting, EMT, law enforcement, and Applied Retail and Business Skills. Classes hold 12 to 18 students, who can earn industry certifications and high school and possible college credit.

A student's IEP works the same here as at the home school. Our Career Resource Educator joins IEP meetings with partner schools, counsels students with IEPs, and oversees their accommodations, and a skills center coordinator helps students keep reading and math on pace with their program. Applicants with IEPs are encouraged to take the hands-on ACE evaluation, and the ARBS program, which includes community-based job training, does not require the OASIS entrance test.
