About White Oak Children's Academy
White Oak Children's Academy is an academic preschool with a Christian influence inside Crossroads Community Church at 1538 Janice Drive in Schererville. It opened in 2014 and follows the Lake Central School District calendar from mid-August through mid-May. It is not a special-education school. Registration for 2026-27 is closed. Summer camps for 2026 remain open.
Acorns (age 3 by October 1 and potty trained) meet Monday/Wednesday 9:00-11:30 a.m. or Tuesday/Thursday 9:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m. for $182 a month. Oaks (age 4 by October 1) meet three days for $317 a month full day or $260 half day. Mighty Oaks (age 5, or turning 5 by December 31) meet Monday through Thursday 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for $410 a month. Seedlings is a Friday caregiver-and-tot class for ages 2 to 4.
Teachers hold four-year degrees in education or a related field and are CPR and first-aid certified. Outdoor play is daily, including in snow. Monthly Bible verses are part of the program.
