Knowledge Quest Academy

Knowledge Quest Academy has been a free public charter school in Milliken since June 2001. We serve about 410 students in kindergarten through 8th grade, with two classrooms per grade and classes capped at 25. We are part of the Weld RE-5J district and governed by our own board, and new students join through a lottery.

Students in K-5 attend library, art, music, PE and technology specials. Middle schoolers pick teacher-led electives each quarter, such as band, orchestra, show choir, Spanish, sign language, makerspace, Sphero robotics, Project Lead the Way, sewing and yearbook. Our Trailblazers play soccer, volleyball, basketball and flag football in the NCIL league. We also run a Gifted and Talented program, student council, a Junior Honor Society for grades 3 to 5, a National Honor Society and a talent show.

Our support team includes special education teachers and paraeducators, a speech-language pathologist, a school psychologist, a school social worker, a counselor, a Section 504 coordinator, reading and math interventionists and an MTSS team. Our character pillars include respect, perseverance and self-control. Students wear uniforms, and bus routes serve the school.
