Marcy School

Aseltine School is a San Diego nonpublic special-education school for students whose needs are not being met in traditional school settings. We work with public-school referral and IEP teams to support students with emotional disturbance, attention or other health impairments, specific learning disabilities, autism, and mild to moderate intellectual disability. Admission follows an individualized referral process. Our program serves students from kindergarten through high-school graduation, and students may remain through age 22. Small classes generally range from five to fifteen students, with an average class size of about ten. Teachers provide individualized and small-group instruction, skills development, and academic remediation. Students can also take part in fine arts, cultural enrichment, creative problem-solving, and sports. Families can speak with their district team about whether a nonpublic-school referral may be appropriate, then contact Aseltine to learn about our program and placement process. We work with students and their teams to support academic growth, build skills, and prepare for the next stage after high school.

The Children's Workshop in San Diego, California, is an accredited, non-profit special education day school and certified California Non-Public School (NPS) dedicated to educating children and adolescents ages 5 through 22 with Autism Spectrum Disorder, developmental delays, and severe communication or behavioral challenges across San Diego County. Operating since 1974, The Children's Workshop combines Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles with individualized academic curricula, pragmatic speech-language therapy, and sensory integration. Low student-to-staff ratios (1:1 to 3:1) allow certified special educators and behavior technicians to deliver individualized pacing, functional communication training (AAC), positive behavioral regulation, and daily living autonomy.

Community School of San Diego is a private nonpublic school operated by Pioneer Programs at 4764 Santa Monica Ave. in San Diego. It provides academic instruction and support for students with disabilities from kindergarten through grade 12, with a separate high school campus offering a transition program for students ages 14-22. The school organizes classes based on students' age, social skills, communication skills, academic abilities, self-help skills, and daily living skills. Programs emphasize community-based instruction and pre-vocational training, with activities in real-life settings such as parks, museums, libraries, restaurants, and job sites.
