Aldar Academy is a private non-profit nonpublic school (NPS) located at 4436 Engle Rd in Sacramento, California. It specializes in meeting the needs of students with severe learning, emotional, and behavioral problems through individualized services identified in each student's IEP. The school serves students ages 4-22 in grades K-12 and is certified by the California State Department of Education. Our nonsectarian private school in Sacramento welcomes middle- and high-school students with a range of learning needs. Classes have no more than ten students, and our small school community gives students, staff and families regular opportunities to work together. At Capital Innovations Academy, students can access advanced courses, tutoring and counseling. Students who demonstrate readiness can enroll in college courses. We are WASC-accredited and focus on academic engagement, study habits and relationships with peers, teachers and family members.

John Morse Therapeutic Center is a small special education school in the Sacramento City Unified School District. It meets the unique needs of students in first through eighth grades who exhibit mental health, emotional, and trauma challenges. Students show problems with self-regulation and internalizing issues that result in the need for a more restrictive school environment than what is available on a regular comprehensive school campus. The school uses a therapy-first approach in a safe and structured academic setting. It provides coping and regulating skills along with academic growth. The vision is to make the center a safe and caring community where students feel secure so they can reach their full potential, positioning them to be productive members of society and return to a comprehensive school site. Students are placed by school districts via IEP. The school is tuition-free for eligible students.
