Galt Head Start

Fairsite Preschool is the early learning campus of the Galt Joint Union Elementary School District, home to our California State Preschool classes and Transitional Kindergarten. The State Preschool Program serves income-eligible children who turn 3 by September 1 and offers part-day and full-day classes. Part-day children attend from 8:00 to 11:30 a.m. or from 11:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and full-day children attend from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Our TK classes, for children who turn 4 by September 1, meet in AM and PM sessions. Both programs follow a developmentally appropriate core curriculum. Children receive meals and snacks, get daily recess, and visit our library and STEAM room every week. They also plant vegetables and flowers in our site garden with the district's environmental outdoor education coordinator, and Galt Expanded Learning serves students from TK up. Our First 5 Sacramento School Readiness Center, on the same campus, offers free services to Galt families with children from birth to age 5, including a bilingual parent and toddler playgroup and a home visitor program.

SETA Children and Family Services is dedicated to nurturing, educating, and empowering low-income children and their families through comprehensive child development services. Catering to a diverse population, including infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and pregnant individuals, the organization operates both in-home and at over 100 centers throughout Sacramento County. The Head Start and Early Head Start programs focus on providing family-centered services that address education, health, nutrition, and mental health needs. By fostering strong family partnerships and community engagement, SETA aims to strengthen family bonds while offering leadership opportunities and advocacy for children experiencing homelessness or requiring medical screenings. What sets SETA apart is its commitment to accessibility; families qualifying for these essential programs receive services at no cost.
