AVID Elementary California Distinguished School 2025 Public school

Starlight Elementary School opened in 2018 and now serves more than 850 students in transitional kindergarten through 5th grade for Beaumont Unified School District. In 2025 we were named a California Distinguished School. Our campus is on Cougar Way. We are an AVID Elementary school. Teachers in AVID grades receive AVID training and coaching and build lessons around writing, inquiry, collaboration, organization and reading, laying early groundwork for college readiness. Core instruction covers math, reading, writing, science, social studies and art, and teachers set goals with students based on their data. Families have several free expanded learning options. IMPACT, run with the Boys & Girls Club of the San Gorgonio Pass, offers before and after school care. Our TK/K Connect program extends the half-day TK and kindergarten schedule to a full day. Clinics, led by Beaumont High School coaches and student-athletes, give students single-day tries at volleyball, tennis, water polo and cheer, and a summer program runs when school is out. Bus passes are available for eligible students.
