Sierra School of Antioch

Classes in Antioch run Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The school follows the Antioch School District calendar, and it closes on major holidays and on weekends. The student-to-teacher ratio is one teacher for every four students. Morning and afternoon snack are part of the day. The program is a child-centered Montessori day for young learners, including children with language-based learning disabilities and twice-exceptional students. Lessons are hands-on, with time for independence, creativity, and critical thinking. Sports and Fitness, Basic Spanish, and Music Education are part of the curriculum. Teachers use the small ratio to give each child personal attention during the day. The school keeps partnerships with families and holds community events, so parents stay connected to the classroom through the week.

Spectrum Center Antioch Campus is a California Department of Education certified non-public school program located at 800 Gary Avenue, Wing B in Antioch, CA. The campus serves students from Pre-K through age 22 who have IEPs and require intensive support for academic, social, emotional, and behavioral needs representing a wide array of disabilities. The program operates small classrooms each led by a credentialed special education teacher and specially trained paraprofessionals. It offers both academic skills and functional skills classrooms along with transition and vocational services. Students are placed by their local school districts through the IEP process at no direct cost to families. The Antioch Campus is co-located on the site of Bidwell Continuation High School and maintains an annual calendar with regular school year and extended school year sessions.
