Lety's Preschool & Immersion Program, located in the Truckee North Lake Tahoe area, has been a cornerstone of early childhood education for over 25 years, catering to children aged 2 to 5. This licensed, family-operated childcare provider focuses on creating a nurturing and inclusive environment that supports diverse learning needs. The program offers a full-day experience filled with engaging, theme-based activities designed to foster language development and cognitive growth, particularly emphasizing Spanish fluency through its full immersion approach. With a maximum of twelve children per classroom, Lety's ensures personalized attention and a low student-teacher ratio, allowing for meaningful interactions and tailored learning experiences. The dedicated bilingual staff is committed to not only educating but also partnering with families to create a supportive community that celebrates each child's unique journey. STEPP, the Sierra Teen Education Parenting Program, is the Tahoe-Truckee Unified School District's infant and toddler program on the Sierra High School campus. We care for children from birth to three years so that student parents can stay in school or pursue their career goals. Our infant room, STEPP, serves babies from birth to 18 months, and our toddler room, Next STEPP, serves children from 18 to 36 months. Teachers plan around each child's interests and developmental level, and we pair child care with parent education and family support services. Two of our teachers speak Spanish, and the application is available in Spanish and English. We run a full five-day program, Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Along with teen parents, we serve student parents who have graduated high school and their age-eligible children, plus community members who meet income requirements. Enrollment requires a birth certificate, current immunizations, a physician's report and proof of income.
